Editorial Standards and Corrections
Psychiatry Watch follows research and treatment developments without confusing promise with proof. These standards describe our intended editorial process and disclose its current limits.
Source hierarchy
We prioritize original peer-reviewed research, official medicine labels and regulators, public health agencies and registered clinical trials. PubMed is an index, not a guarantee of study quality. We distinguish systematic reviews, randomized trials, observational research, preprints and laboratory findings. Company announcements are identified as interested-party reporting.
What we evaluate
Reporting should consider study design, sample size, comparator, endpoints, duration, adverse events, funding and conflicts, and relevance to actual patients. Statistical significance is not necessarily a meaningful clinical benefit. Association is not causation. Absence of observed harm in a small trial does not establish broad safety.
Authorship, AI and completed review
AI may assist drafting and organization. AI-assisted articles disclose that assistance and must not imply licensed clinical review that has not occurred. Original sources remain the basis of reporting. A fact-check credit requires an actual reviewer and date; credentials must be accurate. We do not invent interviews, quotes, patient experiences or research images.
Corrections and updates
Send the article URL, disputed passage and a supporting source through our contact page. We evaluate substantive corrections and update affected copy when warranted. Important changes should include a dated correction note; timestamps alone should not disguise changes. We cannot promise a fixed response deadline.
Editorial independence and network links
Advertising must be distinguishable from reporting and cannot purchase a favorable conclusion. This publication belongs to a shared publishing platform alongside Ketamine News, TMS News, Psilocybin News, Neuroplasticity News, MDMA Therapy News, Psychedelics Report and Psychiatry Watch. Links to sister publications are used only for relevant background, not represented as independent corroboration or medical endorsement.
Scope and accountability
We do not guarantee complete coverage, rankings or treatment outcomes. Our medical disclaimer and advertising disclosure provide further context. Owner and qualified human review remain necessary for medical and legal publication decisions.
