Resources
Watch the future of mental health unfold with sources you can check. Psychiatry Watch follows emerging medicines, research and treatment trends, while distinguishing established care from experimental findings. These independent resources are starting points, not personalized treatment advice.
Mental health information
The National Institute of Mental Health provides information about mental health conditions and treatment. MedlinePlus, from the National Library of Medicine, offers accessible health information. Diagnosis requires a qualified professional, not a checklist or headline.
Medicines and approval status
DailyMed provides official labeling submitted to the National Library of Medicine; verify approval status with the FDA rather than assuming every listed product is approved. DailyMed provides drug labeling, including warnings. Labels and indications can change. A breakthrough designation, trial result or company announcement is not an approval. Never start, stop or change prescribed medicines based on an article.
Original research
Use PubMed to find published medical literature and PubMed Central for available full texts. Read study design, sample size, follow-up, adverse events, funding and limitations alongside results. Peer review does not eliminate bias or establish that a treatment fits every patient.
Clinical trials
ClinicalTrials.gov lists registered studies, sponsors and eligibility criteria. Registration is not government endorsement. Confirm recruitment with the listed research team and review consent, alternatives, costs and follow-up. The NIMH trial guide explains participation.
Urgent support
In the United States, call or text 988 for suicide and crisis support. Call 911 for immediate danger or a medical emergency. Elsewhere, use local emergency and crisis services. Psychiatry Watch is a publication and does not provide emergency care.
Our reporting approach
Read our editorial standards for sourcing, uncertainty, AI disclosure and corrections. Clinical recommendations should be discussed with a qualified professional.
